Prof. Dr. Ahmet DOĞANAY earned his BA degree from Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences on curriculum and instruction in 1983. He got his first MA degree from same department in 1986. In 1986 he was awarded a scholarship from Turkish Government for graduate study in USA. He earned his second master degree on curriculum and instruction in elementary education from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus in 1989. He got his PhD degree from University of Pittsburgh, Department of Instruction and Learning specializing in social studies education in 1993.
Ahmet DOĞANAY who had taught one year as a classroom techer in 1978, began his academic life as a research assisstant at the Çukurova University, Faculty of Education Department os Educational Sciences in 1984. After returning from USA, he has began to work at the same department.
In his academic life Ahmet DOĞANAY has taken over administrative duties such as department chair, vice dean, senate member, Interuniversities Board Member. Currently he serves as the dean of the Faculty of Education, Çukurova University.
Professor DOĞANAY has taken different duties as expert and consultant in national and international projects. Some of them are World Bank-Higher Education Council Preservice Teacher Education Project, European Council Democracy and Human Rights Education Project, European Values Education Project, Northern Cyrprus Turkhish Republic Elementary Education Curriculum Development Project. Social studies education, curriculum development and teaching thinking are among the research interests of Dr. DOĞANAY. He serves as editor of three journal which two of them are indexed in SSCI.
